A quote I really like is the Abraham Lincoln classic, "if I had eight hours to chop down a tree, I'd spend the first six of them sharpening my axe." I took this quote to heart this week in my testing. In the past I was in such a rush to find vulnerabilities I didn't spend much time sharpening. When it comes to pen testing, sharpening my axe is equivalent to performing enumeration. Lesson learned.
